Roopali B. Gupta, MD

Roopali Gupta, MD, is a board-certified physician in geriatric medicine and internal medicine. Dr. Gupta serves as the Education Chief for the UC San Diego Division of Geriatrics and Program Director for the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship.

She provides primary care for older adults, with an emphasis on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. Her practice focuses on age friendly healthcare and she has experience in the complexities of providing dementia evaluation and management in the primary care setting. She earned her medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School followed by residency and fellowship training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

She holds a passion for leading programs related to geriatrics education for trainees of all levels as well as community education and outreach. She is actively involved with curriculum development locally and through regional and national collaborations. She also serves as the Project Director for the HRSA funded San Diego/Imperial County Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program which includes partnerships with community health organizations and federally qualified health centers in San Diego and Imperial Counties.
